When converting your 3rd or 4th gen F-body to manual or race style brakes a new master cylinder is a must. Our kit includes master cylinder, master cylinder fittings, firewall adapter block, pushrod, and pushrod to pedal heim. The firewall block bolts into existing firewall holes allowing you to eliminate the heavy factory brake booster without any extra drilling. Install instructions included.
Choosing the proper size master cylinder: A larger bore master cylinder is moving more fluid, this means it will take more force to create the same pressure as a smaller bore. The larger bore will also have less pedal travel. On the flip side, the smaller bore has more pedal travel but takes less effort to achieve proper system pressure.
Our rule of thumb recommendations are below, but due to the amount of brake combinations and brake system additions on the market it is hard to determine what the exact pedal feel will be.
4-corner 4 piston calipers = large bore
(2) 4 piston calipers + (2) 2 piston calipers = small bore
4-corner 2 piston calipers = small bore
